RevOps used to be the team that keeps the CRM clean. Great dashboards, reports, keep things organized. But in 2026, RevOps is now the AI department — and not just in title, but in actual responsibility.
You are now the team that decides everything AI in your ecosystem: how your agents operate, what data they trust, how they execute, what type of actions they can take. All of that falls within RevOps now. You went from process steward to AI governor — and most of the RevOps leaders I talk to still haven't made the transition yet.
Think about it. When an AI agent routes a lead, prioritizes it, executes an action and sends an email, or takes any type of action — who decides what happens? Who gives those instructions and that governance? That falls within your purview.
If your RevOps team is still managing dashboards and data hygiene, that's the 2022 playbook. The 2026 playbook is AI governance.
