AI Told Me to Pass on the Work. A Friend Told Me to Take It.

I was working a problem through AI and it advised caution on a certain kind of engagement, which I very nearly accepted at face value — until someone who actually knows my skills said the opposite, and was right. Feed it your ICP and your frameworks and let it accelerate you; do not let vanilla AI make the call.

A recent conversation with a friend reminded me of something very important about AI — and vanilla AI especially. Don't let it make decisions for you.

So if you're running a sales operations, revenue operations organization, be extremely careful.

A few days ago I was working through a problem in AI, and AI recommended I be cautious about taking a certain type of work. And I had taken that at face value. And then I called up this friend, I expressed it to him, and he said: Mendy, your skills are completely aligned with that work. You should absolutely do it.

And it reminded me how critically important it is to drive your AI, and not let your AI drive you — who you are, and what your decisions are — and take it at face value.

Meaning: use the instructions, use the guidance in your AI to input your ideal customer profile, your key frameworks, and then let AI accelerate the business for you.
